OUR HISTORY

Innovative Benefits Solutions Since 1983

Fringe Benefit Group was founded in 1983 by Larry West to help government contractors navigate the complexities of the Davis-Bacon Act and the Service Contract Act. What began as a single solution, now known as The Contractors Plan, was the first of its kind to deliver compliant, bona fide benefits tailored specifically for prevailing wage workers.

As the company grew, so did its ability to serve a broader workforce. In 1988, Fringe Benefit Group introduced a benefits program for hourly and part-time employees, which later became The American Worker. Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, the company expanded its capabilities, strengthened its administrative platform, and refined its core solutions to better support employers across industries.

Growth accelerated in the following years through innovation and strategic acquisitions. In 2014, the company acquired The American Worker and integrated the Framework Benefits platform into a unified solution, while also adding EPSI to its portfolio. This momentum continued with the acquisition of Century Healthcare in 2019, further enhancing its ability to deliver comprehensive benefit solutions.

In 2023, Fringe Benefit Group celebrated its 40th anniversary, marking four decades of growth, innovation, and commitment to simplifying benefits. Today, the company remains focused on delivering practical, compliant solutions that support employers, brokers, and the evolving needs of the workforce.
